City Quiz
Context
Our client was a team dedicated to organizing engaging quizzes at corporate events, aiming to create memorable experiences for participants.
Problem
They faced challenges in efficiently tracking participant's scores and delivering captivating presentations before awarding. Manual control of award transitions from an admin laptop, along with real-time display on a large monitor visible to participants, was necessary.
Additionally, they needed a system to track team scores between games and provide a comprehensive summary of the season's results.
Solution
To address these challenges, we developed a solid web application utilizing Next.js, TRPC, PostgreSQL, and a Node.js WebSocket server.
The application consists of an exclusive admin panel accessible to administrators. It enables seamless organization of games, efficient tracking of teams progress, and dynamic score display for each round. It incorporates essential business rules, such as round betting.
To enhance engagement, we implemented captivating features in the admin panel. This includes animated score tables and league standings, accommodating the large number of participating teams.
A key highlight is the final award presentation, managed through the admin panel. Administrators can smoothly run and control the presentation, showcasing visually appealing slides with prize announcements, revealing winning teams, and displaying scores of all participants.
Our system ensures the preservation of state, enabling uninterrupted award presentations even after page reloads.
Furthermore, the frontend of the admin panel boasts several optimizations:
- A table with fixed horizontal scroll columns, elegantly presenting team scores for multiple rounds.
- Fluid integration with Excel, allowing quick and easy import of prepared team lists into the game.
- Optimized display of a large number of teams in a single table, eliminating the need for inconvenient page switching.
Overall, our solution streamlines the entire quiz experience, providing an intuitive platform for organizers and a captivating interface for participants
